UG Congregation - General Notice


  1. The November 2018 will take place at the Great Hall and ISSER Conference Hall from Thursday, 15th November 2018 to Saturday, 17th November 2018.   Check the Congregation Schedule here for your session.

  2. Graduating students who wish to attend the Congregation Ceremony should register on-line  and make payment within the period Thursday, 1st to Monday, 12th November 2018.  Lists of eligible graduands to be presented in November 2018 will be accessible for online graduation registration via the Graduation List page.   This registration should be done before any payment is made to avoid complications.

  3. Following registration, an invoice will be generated for payment of the congregation fee of GH¢ 250.00. Payment can be made in two ways:

i.  Online Payment  on the graduation registration page (VISA/MasterCard/MTN  Mobile money/Vodafone Cash) - reflects instantly (You can pick academic gown, etc. immediately)

ii. At any branch of Ecobank Ghana Limited - processed within 24 hours (Pick up next day)

  1. Students with outstanding bills should contact the Students Accounts Office promptly to settle them.  Students with outstanding fees on their account cannot register. 

  2. Following payment, present a  UG Student ID and evidence of payment at College/School collection point, and pick up academic gown, souvenir and invitation cards. 

  3. Deadline for registration for Congregation:   MONDAY, 12th November 2018  AT 12:00 MIDNIGHT PROMPT!   There will be no extension of this deadline.

  4. To avoid traffic congestion on the Congregation day:

    1. All entry and exit points to/from the University of Ghana will be opened to the public.
    2. The general public is advised to use alternative routes if they do not have any immediate business on the Legon Campus.
  5. Graduands should be seated by 8:00am for the morning session and by 1:00pm for the afternoon session. Loitering is not permitted at the entrance to the Hall and its perimeter.

  6. Graduands will be recognized individually by officials on the dais.

  7. Male graduands are expected to take off their caps before approaching the dais.

  8. Graduates should return the gowns to the College/School collection point within the following week between Monday, 19th  and Friday, 23rd November, 2018, between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m.  Failure to do so during this period will attract a weekly penalty. Late submission should be done at Room D7, Academic Affairs Directorate where the penalty will be determined.

  9. Upon return of the full gown set (hood, gown and cap) and presentation of UG Student Identification Card, Academic Certificates will be issued to the Graduate. The souvenirs will also be given at that time.

  10. Graduates should kindly register as an Alumni of University of Ghana by filling this Alumni Information Request Form
  11. University of Ghana branded neck ties and scarves (recommended for congregation) and other souvenirs are available for purchase at the Alumni Centre or Information Centre. There will also be a sales outlet at the congregation grounds.
