The University community is hereby invited to the inaugural conference of the Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa(MIASA), University of Ghana. The conference is scheduled as follows:
 
Opening Ceremony:   27th September 2018, at 9:00 a.m. at the Great Hall
Conference Sessions: 27th September, 2018 at 2pm
                                   28th September, 2018 at 8.30am
Conference Venue: ISSER Conference Centre
 
Topic: “Africa’s Institutions for Sustainable Governance”
 
Sub-themes: Sustainable Peace and Conflict Management, Sustainable Democracy, and Sustainable Environmental Governance and Rural Transformation in Africa.
 
This inaugural event will feature the fundamental role of Africa’s institutions, past and present, in shaping sustainable governance - in the fields of democracy, conflict management, economy and socio-ecological transformation - and stimulate discussions about knowledge production in African contexts, drawing on the experiences of academics and professionals from diverse disciplines.
