All are cordially invited!

Ghana has been facing a serious energy crisis for the past three years and there seems to be no end in sight for this crisis. Promises have been made to end the crisis but all we see is the problem getting worse by the day. There is evidence that some businesses are collapsing and workers are being laid off due to the energy crisis. The government is clearly being blamed for failing to respond urgently to solve this energy crisis within the shortest possible time. What is the real impact of the crisis to our economy? Now the load shedding has no clear pattern which makes it even more difficult for businesses to plan efficiently. Many people have expressed concern about the negative effects of the current energy crisis on the economy and voiced the need for the crisis to be resolved. All the sectors of the economy have been affected including households, educational and health institutions.

The Economy of Ghana Network (EGN) is a civil society organisation embracing all persons with adequate training and interest in discussing issues relevant to the proper management of the economy of Ghana and to the country’s socio-economic development. The network provides a platform for disseminating research findings and discussing their policy relevance. The Network is funded by African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF).
