Committee on Commercialisation of Agricultural Research Centres Submits Report to Vice-Chancellor

Some team members of the Commercialisation of the Agricultural Research Centres with the Vice-Chancellor

On 3rd November 2016, the Vice-Chancellor inaugurated eight (8) Strategic Teams and charged them to come up with strategies to assist the Vice-Chancellor realize his vision for University of Ghana. One of the 8 teams is the Commercialisation of the Agricultural Research Centres team, whose membership consists of Dr. Percival A. Kuranchie; Dr. Jojo Baidu-Forson; Prof. Daniel K. Asiedu; Prof. Kwame Afreh-Nuamah; Prof. George O. Nkansah; Prof. Eric Danquah; Prof. John Ofosu-Anim; Dr. Stephen Abenney-Mickson; Dr. Samuel K. Dartey-Baah; Mr. Neneyo Mate-Kole; Mr. Richard Boapea; Mr. Emmanuel Baidoo; and Ms. Jennifer Amponsah.

On Wednesday, 8th  February 2017, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, received the strategic proposal of the team for the Commercialisation of the Agricultural Research Centres.  This is the first of the eight teams to submit it strategic proposal.

The Vice-Chancellor thanked the team for its effort and promised to implement the proposal.

The Chairman of the team, Dr. P.A. Kuranchie, summed-up the content of the proposal, which includes costs covering the research centres, and how some level of privatization would help the centres. Dr. P.A. Kuranchie and his team thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the confidence reposed in the team.
