Gordon Awandare Receives Wellcome Trust Award

Wellcome Trust has issued a News Release on awards to seven leading African researchers.  One of the recipients is Dr. Gordon Awandare who is the Centre Leader of the West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens at the University of Ghana.

Dr. Awandare is also Head of the Department of Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, College of Basic and Applied Sciences at the University of Ghana.

The Wellcome Trust Awards will provide major funding from the Wellcome Trust and the Department for International Development (DFID) to establish cutting-edge research and training programmes across the continent.

Obviously this is another proud moment for the University of Ghana.  We congratulate Dr. Gordon Awandare as a proud recipient of this handsome award which is in recognition of his avowed commitment and hard work in his research area.

The Awards Ceremony is taking place in Nairobi, Kenya on September 10, 2015.
