ISSER Commissions 60-Seater Digital Centre to Enhance Professional Training

The Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) has commissioned an ultra-modern Digital Centre, equipped with 60 high-performance computers and modern multimedia technology.

At a brief ceremony to open the facility, the Director of ISSER, Prof. Peter Quartey said, the digital centre aligns with the Vice-Chancellor’s vision to improve teaching and learning across the University of Ghana. It represents ISSER’s continued efforts to enhance research and academic infrastructure to better serve students, professionals, and researchers,”

The opening of the digital centre coincided with the start of ISSER's 2024 Data Management and Analysis Short Course, a two-week programme that provides professional training in advanced data management techniques. 

Participants at this year’s short course were from various public and civil society organisations, including the Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana Revenue Authority, Ghana Civil Aviation Training Academy, SSNIT, Ghana Health Service, Mastercard Foundation, SIC Life Insurance Limited, Volta River Authority, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Solidaridad West Africa and Sabre Education.

Dr. Cynthia Addoquaye Tagoe, Short Courses Programme Co-ordinator for ISSER urged participants to fully utilise the new facility and the expertise of various course facilitators and faculty members to sharpen their data management skills and expand their professional networks.
