UG Strengthens Affiliate Institutions Through Capacity-Building Workshop

The University has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high academic and administrative standards with a two-day training workshop for its affiliate institutions.
Organised by the Affiliation Unit under the Academic Affairs Directorate, the workshop brought together representatives from eleven affiliated private tertiary institutions, including Wisconsin International University College, Islamic University College and the Catholic Institute of Business and Technology.
Opening the event, Director of Academic Affairs, Mrs. Lydia Nyako-Danquah, underscored the University’s role in shaping excellence across Ghana’s higher education landscape. “Your presence here today truly underscores our shared commitment to advancing excellence in higher education across Ghana,” she said.
The training focused on enhancing service delivery and administrative competence, with sessions covering customer expectations, data privacy, cybersecurity and emotional intelligence.
Facilitators included Prof. Raphael Odoom from the Department of Marketing, University of Ghana Business School; Mr. Yusif Amadu from the e-Learning Unit, IT Directorate; and Dr. Gladys Setordzie (Mrs.), Senior Counsellor at the Careers and Counselling Directorate.
Participants received certificates and University of Ghana-branded souvenirs in recognition of their participation. The workshop forms part of the University’s long-term strategy to ensure academic consistency and service parity across its mentoring network of affiliate institutions.
