UTAG-UG President Prof. Ransford Gyampo Donates to Academic Affairs Directorate

Prof. Ransford Edward Van Gyampo, the President of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG - UG), and a faculty member in the Department of Political Science, has generously contributed to the Academic Affairs Directorate by personally donating a high-performance Lenovo laptop computer and a Samsung Galaxy Tab to the Students’ Services and Records Unit.

In explaining the motivation behind his donation, Prof. Gyampo expressed his deep appreciation for the vital role played by the Unit in meeting the daily needs of students, thus enhancing their overall experience at the University of Ghana.

He further mentioned a previous similar donation made to the Public Affairs Directorate and encouraged members of the University Community to contribute to the institution whenever they have the means.

Prof. Gyampo commended the dedicated staff of the Students’ Services and Records Unit for their tireless efforts and encouraged them to continue delivering world-class service to the University's clientele.

Mrs. Lydia Anowa Nyako-Danquah, the Director of Academic Affairs, expressed her gratitude for Prof. Gyampo's unprecedented and heartfelt gesture, emphasising his unwavering commitment to the University which goes beyond his official duties. She hoped that this act of generosity would inspire other University employees to contribute to the institution's success and growth.

She assured Prof. Gyampo that the equipment would be instrumental in improving service delivery, facilitating student records management, enhancing student services, enabling remote access and flexibility, and improving communication and resource allocation.

The event culminated in a brief staff gathering, during which Prof. Gyampo celebrated the dedicated team at the Academic Affairs Directorate and called on fellow alumni to join in supporting the University.

The event was attended by Ms. Bernice Anokye, Head of the Boards and Committees Unit;  Mr. Eric Yaw Alade, Head of the Students’ Services and Records Unit as well as staff of the Directorate.
