Phoenix Insurance Redeems Part of Pledge to The University of Ghana

During the November 2017 congregation ceremony of the College of Health Sciences, the Guest Speaker and Chief Executive Officer of the CDH Group, Mr. Emmanuel Adu-Sarkodee, pledged a 250,000 Ghana Cedis donation to an Endowment Fund for University of Ghana needy but brilliant students, as an expression of the corporate social responsibility of the Phoenix Insurance Company Limited, a subsidiary of the CDH Group.

This morning, 4th January 2018, Mr. Emmanuel Adu-Sarkodee presented a cheque for Gh100,000 as an instalment of the Ghc250,000 Ghana Cedis pledge.

The Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Rev. Prof. Patrick F. Ayeh-Kumi, commended the Phoenix Insurance Company Limited for being true to their word.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, received the donation, and thanked Mr. Adu-Sarkodee and the Phoenix Insurance Company Limited for the benefaction. He expressed the view that supporting needy students is a capital investment in the nation, and that the donation would serve the critical needs of the students. He disclosed the University’s commitment to enhancing the Endowment Fund during the 70th Anniversary of the University of Ghana.

Mr. Emmanuel Adu-Sarkodee was accompanied by Mr. Raymond Agboka, Deputy Managing Director, Phoenix Company Limited; Mrs. Seyena Susu, HR Phoenix Company Limited; and Mr. Eastmon Victor, Holdings Assistant Manager, CDH.
