UG Alumni Association in Liberia Donates Laptops to Support VC's “One Student, One Laptop” Initiative

The University of Ghana Alumni Association, Liberia (UGAAL) has donated three brand-new laptops in support of the Vice-Chancellor’s “One Student, One Laptop” initiative.
The delegation from UGAAL included Mr. Foley Freeman, an Author and Chartered Accountant and Dr. Allison Hughes, Head of the UG Department of Physics.
Mr. Freeman, speaking on behalf of the Association’s President, said, “We are here to fulfill a promise we made in part and hope to increase our contribution in the coming months.” He commended the Vice-Chancellor’s vision, which he noted has positioned UGAAL to remain one of the most vibrant alumni associations in Liberia.

Receiving the laptops, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, thanked UGAAL on behalf of the University’s Management, for the kind gesture. She expressed excitement that beyond the launch of the Association two years ago, the Association had fulfilled a promise they made.

“The Alumni Association exists because of the University, and it is important that its programmes and activities align with the vision and aspirations of the University,” she remarked.
Also present at the meeting were Prof. Gordon Abekah-Nkrumah, Ag. Director of the Institutional Advancement Directorate; Ms. Adwoa Abrokwa, Alumni Development Officer, Institutional Advancement Directorate; Mr. Richard Nana Karikari, Head, Product Development and Financing; Institutional Advancement Directorate and Ms. Pascaline Songsore, Senior Assistant Registrar, Public Affairs Directorate.
