Mr. Lawrence Addo, an alumnus of the University of Ghana and the Chief Executive Officer of Relish Company Limited, has donated GH40, 000.00 to the Students Financial Aid Office to support brilliant but financially challenged students

Mr. Addo, who has been a benefactor of UG's Student Financial Aid Office for a decade, remarked in a brief presentation at his residence, that his motive to sponsor students is mainly to equip the country with more competent individuals who will contribute to the sustainability and welfare of families.

He also revealed that his annual donation to the scheme was halted in the year 2020 due to the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, as he was unable to reach his target amount. He was however encouraged to resume his act of benevolence after listening to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo's speech at the SFAO Donor Appreciation Cocktail held last year where she emphasised that, “every little contribution counts.”

He also advisedstudents who would benefit from the support, to take advantage of the opportunity and work hard in order to make valuable contributions to society.

Ms. Selina Torrison Saaka, Head of SFAO, received the cheque on behalf of the University and expressed appreciation to Mr. Lawrence Addo for his continuous support.
