Enhancing Capacity and Postgraduate
Education in the Humanities

Overview

The University of Ghana in September 2017, received a grant of $800,000 (Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars) from the Trustees of The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for four years to support and enhance graduate studies and faculty training. This was a response to a proposal submitted to the foundation titled Enhancing Capacity and Postgraduate Education in the Humanities at the University of Ghana (ENCAPEH-UG).

The overall goal of the project is to promote postgraduate training and scholarship in the Humanities at the University of Ghana. These initiatives are central to the University of Ghana's vision of becoming a world-class research-Intensive university by 2024. Fifteen (15) Masters' students and ten (10) PhDs students are currently being sponsored under this fellowship. A brief synopsis of their research is outlined below
