UG Strengthens Global Engagement with New Partnerships with German Universities

In a major step towards enhancing UG’s fourth strategic Priority, Engagement and Partnerships, the University has received a delegation of Rectors/Presidents of various German Higher Education Institutions. The purpose of the visit was to explore mutually beneficial partnerships for their respective institutions.

Following the signing of MOUs with two of the German institutions, concurrent workshops were held, led by the Provosts of all four Colleges. The sessions explored potential areas of collaboration in Medicine, Political Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Economics, Education, Linguistics, Migration Studies, Urban Development and Planning and innovation transfer, among many other areas.

The MOU will guide UG and the two institutions to focus especially on collaborative research, including joint PhDs, student exchange programmes and initiatives that support staff and faculty development.
