Q. When will Axigen be retired?

A. By the first quarter of 2016

Q. When will I be migrated to the ɔkasamafo Platform?

A. The planned cut-off date is September 1, 2015. Users are urged to perform the prerequisites before that date. On the said date users will do a self-service migration that will be posted on the HOW TO page 

Q. What are my possible AD/ Email Account Names?

A. The usernames/email accounts could be any of the following, in the order below:

·         First character of firstname and lastname

·         First character of first name, first character of middlename and lastname

·         First two characters of the firstname and lastname

·         First three characters of the firstname and lastname

 

Q. What will happen to my existing email account if it does not conform to any of the standard naming conventions?

A. If the mail does not conform to the standard format, you will be assigned a new username and your existing mailbox will be used as your secondary mailbox. You will receive mails sent to that mailbox but you cannot send from that mailbox.

Q. What will happen to other sub-domains such as (@lib., @chs., @noguchi. etc)?

A. All prefixes will be combined to ug.edu.gh. UGCS will work with those who want to maintain their prefixes accordingly to have a common standard.

Q. What are the pre-requisite for migration to the ɔkasamafo Platform?

A. Users should move their mailboxes unto the Microsoft Outlook Client as described to ensure they do not shuffle between two mail boxes.

·         On the cut-off date users who log into active directory ……..

·         Users who login to ɔkasamafo webmail (Outlook Web Access OWA) will ……

Q. How do I log into ɔkasamafo webmail?

A. The webmail address will be https://mail.ug.edu.gh  and will be listed on the UG website and other communication platforms
