Additional Agric Students Benefit From Finatrade Foundation Scholarship Scheme

The Finatrade Foundation, has increased from five to twenty-five, undergraduate scholarship beneficiaries at the School of Agriculture.

The Executive Secretary of the Foundation, Mr. John Awuni announced this at a ceremony held at the School of Agriculture to present cheques and certificates to the newly selected beneficiaries. He added that the bursaries have been increased from GHs 800 to GHs 1,000 per year from the 2015/2016 academic year.

The Dean of the School of Agriculture, Prof. John Ofosu-Anim expressed his gratitude to the Foundation and gave assurances that the School would continue to encourage the beneficiaries to give their best to ensure that the investments made in them do not go wasted.

The Finatrade Foundation, which is the social responsibility arm of Finatrade Group of Companies, was established in 2003 in recognition of Finatrade’s responsibility and commitment to supporting the development of the societies in which they operate. The foundation focuses predominantly on agriculture, education and health initiatives.

Since the Foundation’s establishment in 2003, it has been providing scholarships for students of the School of Agriculture, with five new beneficiaries every academic year.
