Careers and Counselling Centre to Partner Munster University and Ashesi University on Student Exchange Programmes

The leadership of the Careers and Counselling Centre has led a delegation from Munster University and Ashesi University to call on the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Gordon Awandare. 

The visit was for Munster University to officially propose a partnership between the three universities to facilitate students’ collaborations through exchanges such as internships and joint virtual seminars to be rolled out over the next four years. 

Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Awandare said, “we welcome such a collaboration. As a University, we have set for ourselves a priority to broaden our international partnerships, and I think it is collaborations like this which give us the opportunity to have a bigger presence on the international stage”. Prof. Awandare was elated that this partnership will lead to improvement of career service provision in ways that meet the career needs of young people in different contexts.

Dr. Andreas Eimer, Director of Career Services, Munster University, on behalf of his team expressed appreciation to the University for the warm reception. He stated that the University of Ghana was identified for the partnership because of its impressive and comprehensive Careers and Counselling Centre as well as its broad spectrum of disciplines, similar to that of Munster University.

The Director of the UG Careers and Counselling Centre, Rev. Dr. Bridget Ben-Naimah, pledged her team's commitment to making the collaboration succeed, with the assurance of support from Senior Management of all three universities. 

Present at the meeting was Dr. Jan Knauer, Officer in charge of Employability, Munster University.  

The delegation from Ashesi University Career Services comprised Ms. Alberta Awura Adjoa Asiamah, Ms. Daniella Addo and Mr. Najeeb Ibrahim.  Also in attendance were staff of UG Careers and Counselling Centre
