Fondazione Edu Scholarship Scheme Representatives Hold Luncheon For Beneficiaries

The Students Financial Aid Office, UG, in partnership with the Fondazione Edu Scholarship Scheme, hosted a luncheon for scholarship recipients.

The event served as an opportunity for team bonding, networking and discussions on the benefits of the scholarship for the recipients.

In a brief overview, Chiara Piaggio, Project Manager for Fondazione Edu Scholarship, gave a background to the scheme. She mentioned that it is a family foundation that specialises in higher education in Africa, promoting young people’s access to higher education in developing countries such as Ghana and Uganda.

Highlighting the objective of the luncheon, she stated that it was to build a network of beneficiaries, socialize, share ideas on how the Scholarship has benefited recipients and how it could be improved.

Chiara Piaggio intimated that the foundation plans to build a larger community by creating multiple wings where all scholarship recipients could gather to share ideas.

She further disclosed that some beneficiaries had graduated with commendable honors, are now achieving greater heights and promoting the good name of the University of Ghana. Advising the beneficiaries, Ms. Saaka urged the recipients of the Scholarship to study hard and work towards their dreams.

The luncheon featured an engaging exchange of views. Recipients excitedly shared their triumphant and resilient tales, demonstrating how the award has impacted their academic pursuits.

Armatey Clinton, a level 400 Medical Laboratory Science student, expressed his gratitude for the financial relief the scholarship provided.

“The scholarship has really relieved me from all the stress relating to my academic financial burdens,’ he stated.

“Through this FE scholarship I have been able to save money for other important expenses; I always have peace of mind,’’ Akua Amoah, a Level 300 student also stated.

Also in attendance was Valentine Nutty, Project Manager for FE Scholarship. Staff from the Students Financial Aid Office, UG who were also present at the Luncheon were, Mrs. Lovelle Safakor Segbedzi, Principal Administrative Assistant; Ms. Regina Sosoo, Senior Accounting Assistant and Ms. Akua Ayisi, Principal Administrative Assistant.
