Madam Ylenia Citino, Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, Prof. Samuel Sefa-Dedeh
In a speech read on his behalf, the Deputy Head of Mission of the Italian Embassy Mr. Lorenzo Pinelli, lauded the ICTP’s goals of providing scientists from developing countries with advanced research skills and training opportunities unavailable in their home countries for long and productive careers. This he noted has helped in stemming the scientific brain drain from developing countries.
Accepting the books on behalf of the School of Engineering Sciences, the Provost of the College of Basic and Applied Sciences (CBAS), Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu lauded the Head of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Dr. David Dodoo-Arhin, for facilitating the donation during a visit to the ICTP in May 2015. He used the occasion to urge the Italian Embassy to help strengthen a partnership between the CBAS, ICTP and Italian Institutions through postgraduate training and capacity building.
The Acting Dean, School of Engineering Sciences (SES), Prof. Samuel Sefa-Dedehwas also thankful for the assistance from the ICTP and looked forward to further partnership with other Italian Institutions.
