ISSER launches State of the Ghana Economy Report 2012

The Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) has been invited by the African Growth Initiative (AGI) of the Brookings Institute to launch the State of the Ghanaian Economy Report 2012 (SGER) at the Institute in Washington DC, USA.
A Team from ISSER, led by the Director, Professor Felix Asante, is currently in the United States of America, to launch the flagship annual publication. Other members of the team are Professor Peter Quartey, Associate Professor, ISSER and Dr. Robert Osei, Head of the Economic Division, ISSER.
The event was jointly organized by the Brookings Africa Growth Initiative and Corporate Council on Africa. At the launch, the Director of ISSER, Prof. Felix Asante, presented the report after which there was a 4-member moderated discussion followed by a question and answer time.
The Discussants comprised the representatives from ISSER and Stephen Hayes, the President and CEO of Corporate Council on Africa. The Moderator for the function was Dr. Whitney Schneidman, a non-resident Fellow at the AGI, at the Brookings Institute.
It will be recalled that in September 2013, ISSER launched the State of the Ghanaian Economy Report 2012, at a well-attended programme in its Conference Hall. The flagship publication which has been produced by the Economics Division of ISSER since 1991, discusses important economic and social policies of development as well as macro and micro indicators that affect the growth of the Ghanaian economy.
The launch at Brookings has offered an authoritative platform and has opened up the Report to a wider audience for further review and insight.
