University of Ghana and University of Rochester Delegation

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu  has received a three-member  delegation from the University of Rochester,  USA,  on Tuesday, 7th February 2017, to discuss and review the long-standing relationships and focus on the collaboration which has existed over the past six years.  The Rochester delegation was led by Dr. Jane Gatewood, Vice-Provost for Global Engagement.

Welcoming the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor said that he was confident and pleased to renew the unique collaboration and generous exchange programme which is increasingly benefitting a number of faculty and students, especially from the departments of Archaeology and Engineering Sciences.

The two universities now call for strategic initiatives to open research and training opportunities for a semester or a year for students up to the PhD level.

In his remarks, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Kwame Offei, appealed to the University of Rochester to also support and extend their collaboration to other science faculties as the University of Ghana is keen on research in the sciences.

The Rochester delegation also had mid-morning faculty meetings to discuss future collaborations in specific areas of academic growth between the two universities.  The University of Ghana and University of Rochester collaboration hopes to cover more student exchanges and faculty relationships.
